Remember when dreams were a good thing? Not so says the leader of the pretending to be free world. Dreams are for chumps.
The governor of the Bluegrass certainly agrees. He says the people who sell dreams, teachers, have been selling snake oil all along and should be cut right off. It's time for real snake oil salesmen to do the teaching. Pension problem solved.
But back to the top.
Wonder how many Dreamers are children of people who've cleaned the Donald's overpriced hotels and country clubs? Knowing his track record, there's got to be more than a handful.
You're on your own says the millionaire slumlord's son who has never been on his own to know what it means. Who cares if this is where you grew up? The four year old you should have known you were breaking the law and turned your parents in.
That's what a real American would do. So back to wherever with you!
You've got to wonder...well, at least I've got to wonder...what level of sociopath you have to be to believe some young man or woman who has grown up here, has been educated in our schools, has proven dedicated and productive in their communities, and even served in our armed forces should suddenly be deported to their family's country of origin?
There is nothing rational, nor anything decent, about that attitude. It is as unpatriotic as the leftiest lefty burning the U.S. flag or rightiest righty zeig heiling a swastika.
Denying citizenship, much less residence, to young people who have proven themselves is to truly despise the very idea of America. There is no other way to view it.
Doing the right thing is something totally foreign to the Donald and the party who produced him. The Republican party gave up on the idea around the time Newt Gingrich showed up in D.C. and forgot it altogether by the time Mitch McConnell took over the Senate.
Just ask Obama's last Supreme Court pick.
The governor of Kentucky from New Hampshire, the one who received a whopping 14% of the eligible vote, grins into the camera and claims teachers are the reason the pension system is broken. You can't get more sociopathic than blaming problems on education. It is the Republican way.
Matt Bevin likes to use the Bible as his excuse not to do the right thing. A lot of today's Republican politicians thump it. It's always good for votes because heaven knows no one wants to show up before St. Peter with preacher disapproved votes on their record.
You know Governor Granite has it out for teachers because so many had the audacity to try to teach him something in his youth. True know it alls know they don't need anybody teaching them anything. Especially no godless lefty teacher, which is what they all are you know.
While Republicans may succeed one day in eliminating teachers, it's far less likely they'll eliminate illegal immigration after they boot the Dreamers. Documented Americans want to get paid to work. Undocumented people work cheap.
The billionaires and corporations dream of cheap labor. That's the American dream of the Republican party.
And that dream is a real nightmare.
