I had my first round of chemo today. It's no big deal, people all over the country had their first round of chemo today.
Only one person appeared at the National Association of Black Journalists convention to tell them his apparent opponent in the coming election only recently turned black.

Kamala Harris is the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. They were both legal immigrants to the United States. Kamala grew up to attend Howard University, one of the country's most prominent historically black colleges. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a historically black sorority.
Don John Trump also declared he was the best American president for "the black" since Abraham Lincoln. Instead of answering one panelists' questions, he harangued and insulted her and the company she worked for. He claimed he didn't know what Diversity, Equity and Inclusion meant, although according to him that's how Harris became Vice President.
Yes, only one guy had the proud smugness of a bigot to declare the people coming across the southern border were taking black jobs. He couldn't define what a black job was.
But Black Jobs will be a new program in Trump's Department of Labor. Until he kills the department in 2027, of course. Then it will be lost in the Department of Homeland Security.
Finally, only one guy would declare before journalists of color the demonstrations after the police killing of George Floyd were worse than the January 6, 2021 assault on the capital "and no one was arrested".
Someone loudly responded from the audience "Sir Have You No Shame?"
Right there is a journalist doing their job. One wonders why no journalist in literally thousands of opportunities has asked that one before. He got no answer.
Who thought it was a good idea to send Trump to this particular convention. There's no way Don is going to fire Jr. I can hear him now, "You showed them pop, you've got their respect now!" Nobody in Trump's camp would ask him the shame question because none of them have any either.
Turns out when Don John isn't babbling incoherently at one his worship fests or being "interviewed" by a member of the Republican media, he presents as old and demented, which he is. Which we all said the other guy was, too.
When he's interviewed by anyone of color, he comes across as unhinged and racist, which he is. Of course he has no shame. Shame doesn't sell.
I have shame but here's a story anyway. I had chemo orientation yesterday before today's first round. There are things you learn that might happen, things that will happen. You learn the things you can do and the things that you can't do.
One of the things I can still do is have sexual relations. Which is great. But only if I'm double wrapped in Trojans heaviest duty prophylactic. Which isn't great.
Not because I'd have to wear them, but because the hospital didn't offer to provide them.
