You know how sometimes you want to say something but can't find the words? That's not what happened here.
Donald finds the words. Donald finds all the words. Nobody finds the words like Donald does. He finds them and tosses them around in his giant over-combed word dispensary and lets them marinate. Then, when anyone is in earshot, he expels them in random bursts of donsense.
Rhymes with nonsense.
The latest example--as of this writing--included "let them take out Los Angeles...let them take out San Diego...it's a small price to pay..." when riffing on the Iran War and gas prices to a crowd at a Nebraska campaign stop.
As we know, the man loves riffing. Like an out of tune jazz tuba player, he honks stuff off the top of his head without his hair moving at all. Always searching for the combination of sounds that will draw the loudest cheers.
It's hard to say with DonJon if those words were actually tied together in one thought or if they were 3 separate thoughts vomited simultaneously. But it's not hard to say a lot of his crowd thought it sounded like a good idea based on the cheers that followed.
You can see a senile old man finding sense in sacrificing two American cities. But what about those cornhuskers cheering him on? Do they really think San Diego and Los Angeles are all loonie lefties and illegal aliens?
Sometimes facts get in the way of donsense. Actually, facts always get in the way of donsense.
In the 2024 presidential election, Trump got 40% of the vote in San Diego and 32% of the vote in Los Angeles. He got 59% of the vote in Nebraska.
In raw numbers, that would be roughly 565,000 Trump voters in Nebraska. But 593,000 in San Diego and nearly 1.2 million in Los Angeles. That's 3 times more Magats in just two California cities than all of Nebraska.
I don't know. Seems like the numbers for the derailing Trump Train would work better by sacrificing Nebraska instead of San Diego and L.A. Those places gave us Nixon and Reagan. Can you name a president from Omaha?
Tell Little Marco or Little Jared or whatever little guy is trying to get Iran to the table that a whole state sounds a lot better than a couple of cities. Who wouldn't go for that deal?
Wait. I'm kidding. We should not sacrifice Nebraska or anywhere else. Gerald Ford was secretly born in Nebraska under the birth name of Leslie Lynch King. His mother moved him to Michigan shortly after to escape the stigma of being named Leslie.
I got that last fact online. It came from a giant data center.
Speaking of giant data, I'm celebrating another data gathering trip around the sun in the coming week or, as I like to call it, my 39th 29th birthday. I've got to tell you, I barely feel a year over my 30th 29th.
Sometimes you can't find the words. Then again, sometimes you can.
