I'm running a bit of a fever today. So technically, you've been warned.
My usual good mood crumbles when a cough takes over. The sore throat on top of that has me discombobulated. I'm still capable of complete thoughts, but the heat in the cranium keeps them random and short lived.
This might be appropriate this week because it seems like everybody's got a temperature out there. The world is stoking this random fever dream. So here goes.
You and I should not be funding a madman's unholy massacre of innocent civilians in the Gaza strip, but that's what is happening. Over 30,000 dead Palestinians is not "defending Israel". It is time for a cease-fire followed quickly by the removal of Benjamin Netanyahu from the world stage.
But looking back home, I'm annoyed by the demonstrations on college campuses across the country. I truly believe in effective protest but you can't get more ineffective than American college students holding their schools hostage for something the colleges can't change. There's no way the optics can be good.
Now the anti-education party is taking notice and are working on ways to cut funding to higher education masquerading as combating anti-semitism on college campuses.
Some schools handled the demonstrations well. Some completely blew it by calling in the cops prematurely. Swat teams on college campuses are also bad optics.
Speaking of optics, living so close to West Virginia and getting their political advertising has certainly opened my eyes. Based on the ads I see, West By Gawd is about to be overrun by something called the woke mob. It must be serious, because every candidate for every office warns against them while simultaneously accusing whoever their opponent is of leading it. I just wonder if the woke mob has uniforms.
On the subject of waking up, another Trump attorney is working to separate themselves from the pleasure of having him as a client. The law firm of LaRocca, Hornik, Greenberg, Kittredge, Carlin & McPartland filed a motion to withdraw from a long running gender discrimination case against the Trump campaign citing "irreparable breakdown in the client-attorney relationship". It's hard to keep track of former Trump attorneys, but I hear they're going to get matching pins and hold a retreat after the election.
Of course, given all the current court cases against the man and his holdings, he needs all the lawyers he can get. It's entirely possible by the time you read this he's actually in jail. Trump was fined $9,000 for contempt of court by breaking gag orders and the judge explained if he continued the trend he'd soon be wearing orange. Trump replied that was his color.
He followed that up by calling the judge crooked. As they say, it takes one to know one and a guy as crooked as Donald John Trump might spot his peer a mile away. Or he's just doing what he always does, demonizing someone who stands in his way. I hope the judge has the key ready.
That could even break my fever. Maybe. I'm really just hoping I didn't get bird flu from a hamburger.
