Hillfraudy

You know what they say about birds of a feather, don't you.  They're twice as effective at crapping all over your windshield.

A Trump/Vance ticket is the coupling of two illusions.  The old master of fraud and grift embracing the buckeye riding his billionaire fueled hillbilly wagon.

If JD Vance is a hillbilly because he visited cousins in Jackson a few times growing up, then I'm a NYawker and my Long Island cred is dope. But I'm penning no elegies for Suffolk, I promise.

From his accounts, I was at my cousins and grandparent's place ten times as much as he ever was at his relatives in east Kentucky. And Lindenhurst/Babylon is a heck of a lot further from Elkhorn than Middletown is from Jackson.

What kind of cousin is that?

Not even Ron Howard could make a decent movie out of Hillbilly Elegy. You know Opie can hardly make a bad movie.  The book is clumsily written and has the subtlety of a jackhammer.  It's hard to write an elegy for someone you never met.

The story is transparent in its desire to make a point. The point, if you don't know, is government is bad, hillbillies ain't so great, only we are good.

We being whatever JD is.  One thing he is is very rich.

It's fair to applaud Vance for making something from nothing, which is what his running mate would like you to believe about him.  Vance did not inherit his millions, he made his money the old fashion way: by wooing a billionaire benefactor. As long as he keeps parroting the benefactor's visions, the money keeps flowing.

JD's core political belief, aside from further self-enrichment of course, is that a woman's only value is as an incubator and they should just let the men take care of the hardware.  As a matter of fact, let's just go ahead and let the billionaire men make all the decisions for everybody.

It's working for him.

If you were expecting any ear jokes this week, look elsewhere. An innocent guy died trying to protect his wife.  Democracy is ugly enough without political violence.  Assassination is the most anti-democratic act there is.

We have to come up with a language that doesn't include conspiracy theories. It isn't a deep state mission and it wasn't staged.  It was what it always is, human error and luck.  When you meet someone who hasn't made a mistake let us know.

I must say, it's interesting how many Republicans are more emotionally affected by a near assassination than by the actual killing of dozens of children in classrooms or adults in clubs and theaters.  Ever hear Jesus wept?

When you appoint a lawyer with no trial experience to be a federal judge, you put them in the district you plan on retiring in.  That way when you take the classified documents you want to be able to show off like souvenirs so people will think you're still important and then get caught, the inexperienced judge will be grateful for the lifetime $250,000 yearly salary plus benefits and let you go.

That's hillfraudy level planning.
